Victory is of the Lord

It is your month of VICTORY. Follow these teachings that are part of our daily devotional for the month of April, 2020.

Main Text: Judges 7:1-25

Watchword: The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the LORD. Proverbs 21:31 (NLT).

As believers, we are expected to carry out necessary preparations that will enable us to be victorious in our endeavors.

Many times, we do things not sure if we will be victorious in our endeavors, but we are to believe God will give victory his own way and time.

Joseph did not see visible victory until after thirteen years of being sold into slavery.

Wait on the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Trust also in him and he will bring things to pass. (Psalm 37:3-5).

Gideon was a timid young man who didn’t even believed at first when the angel of the Lord told him he would save the people of Israel from their oppressors.

He decided to put God to test and God forced him to rely on Him (God).

In your walk with God, your faith is needed and required in him for your victory to be fully delivered to you.

Samson had lost his eyes. His commitment to God through his Nazarene vow, was the key to his strength. (Judges 16:17). But his undoing was his eyes.

When the enemy finally subdued him after cutting his hair, they gorged out his eyes.

They unknowingly eliminated Samson’s lifelong weakness (his eyes) and in his blindness, he was able to see God like never before. He believed God more for victory which he had. “The dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.”(Judges 17:30).

There are distractions around hindering us from seeing the real picture of how powerful and mighty our God is. We need to do away with these distractions for God to show himself strong in our lives (Heb 12: 1-2)

Confession: Lord, I confess to you today, I take my eyes off every distraction holding me back from seeing and believing you like I ought to.

Lord, I declare to you today that I will trust you completely to lead me to victory.

Lord, I declare to you today that I will wait on you and give my desires to you, trusting that you will bring things to pass in your own way and time.

Prayer: Father, strengthen and engrace me to depend on you to do what I think you cannot do in Jesus name. Amen.

Father, help me to always keep my focus on you. Even in this season, help me to reflect more on you and your words in Jesus name. Amen.
