*Main Text*

2 Peter 1:5-10

*Watchword*

We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other, (2 Thessalonians 1:3) NKJV

A thankful heart responds to God’s grace. It is your absolute duty as a believer to praise God in your life. You are bound by the bond of God’s love to bless His Holy name as long as you live. Gratitude is a debt and it is a lasting obligation. A sense of what God does through His grace must always be the basis for your thanks. (Psalms 103:1-5)

For Paul, it is a spiritual obligation to thank God in prayer, when He fulfills great things in the lives of His saints. He showed gratitude to God for their faith that is growing extremely well, the love shown to people around them and their relationship with God that continue to grow greater and healthier. This kind of attitude should also be the response of every believer to the great work that God is doing in every assembly (2 Corinthians 8:2–3).

To grow in your faith you must realize the purpose of your faith (Hebrews 11:6); remember the promises of faith (Matthew 21:22); recognize the privilege of faith (Ephesians 2:8); and respond to the power of faith (1 Peter 1:5).

*Confession*

Thank you Heavenly Father for answered prayers, I give You all the glory and praise that is due to Your great name.

*Prayer*

Oh Lord, let there be a manifestation of my request as I continue to pray in faith.
