*THE GRACE AND PEACE OF GOD*

*Main Text:  Peter 1:2-3

*Watchword: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

(2 Thessalonians 1:2) NKJV

You cannot have true peace without first experiencing God’s grace. When you experience salvation by grace, you enter into peace with God. (Romans 5:1). All who are saved by grace can enjoy the peace of God in their hearts. (John 14:27).

This is Paul’s pattern of saying “hello” in his epistles. The greetings here is a combination of Greek and Hebrew salutations. “Grace” is a Greek greeting, which conveys a sense of God’s favor and provision. “Peace is a typical Hebrew salutation, it conveys a sense of well-being. Well-being is the result of God’s grace at work in a person’s heart. God had called believers out of the world to be in Him and in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 17:16)

Let your greetings always be accompanied by a blessing. Grace is God’s provision for the believer without any strings attached. Peace flows out of grace, and both flow from God the Father and were made effective in human history through the Lord Jesus Christ. As a believer you cannot function efficiently without God’s grace and peace.
