*Main Text*
1 Peter 4:13-16
*Watchword*
which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer. (2 Thessalonians 1:5) NKJV
Having a right attitude towards suffering is essential for the kingdom of God. This very attitude is the positive proof that God’s wise process of purging, purifying, and perfecting through suffering is working, to make you His beloved child worthy of the kingdom and being perfected (1 Peter 5:10).
Paul wrote this epistle to faithful believers to calm their fears and encourage them in their Christian life. As a believer, trial is not to be thought of as evidence that God has forsaken you or God is punishing you for lack of commitment, or some wrong, but rather an evidence that He is with you to perfect you. (Matthew 5:10). When you suffer in a godly manner, it shows your trust in God’s sustaining grace for that suffering and God’s provisions for inner strength.
Enduring trials with faith is an evidence that God is working in you, preparing you for His eternal kingdom, when you will escape His righteous judgment through the blood of Christ. (James 1:2–3, 12).
*Confession* Heavenly father, help me to see more clearly that by patiently enduring trials, I am honoring Your name.
*Prayer* Oh Lord, give me the mind of Christ, as You teach me to endure trials with patience and humility until your kingdom comes.
