Proverbs 2:9-15
Watchword
Discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you. Proverbs 2:11 (NKJV)
We are secure when we walk in wisdom because we are guarded and watched over by God Himself. Discretion and understanding can preserve and keep you safe from getting into difficulties or temptations in life that can cost you dearly in many different ways. We see things from God’s perspective – and having seen that – we avoid danger and stupidity like a plague.
Discretion and understanding are aspects of godly wisdom that will protect you from foolish errors, wicked people and sin, they can also preserve your soul, life, and assets. Understanding is discerning a situation, its hidden dangers, subtle errors, and the right course of action. They will keep you out of all sorts of trouble, spiritual and physical. They will bring you peace, security, success, and happiness. Life without them is hard and difficult (Proverbs 13:15; 22:5).
They are easy to obtain, if you will apply yourself to learning the Word of God by faithfully and frequently reading, meditating, praying and studying. Then you must apply your learning to the life situations that God will bring your way (Heb. 5:12-14). God has given instruction for happiness and success, are you applying yourself as diligently and regularly in acquiring these two things as you do in protecting your body and money? Make sure your priorities are God and wisdom for your maximum success.
Confession
The Spirit of Wisdom indwells me, i receive the discretion to know what to do, when to do it, and how to do it in various circumstances.
Prayer
The guidance of the Lord is my lot at all times. I will not be confused at any period…..HE will lead me and direct me to see, to know and to follow HIS path. Amen.
