Main Text
1 Kings 17:8-16

Watchword
So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he and her household ate for many days. The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry, according to the word of the Lord which He spoke by Elijah.
1 Kings 17:15-16 NKJV

Her immediate obedience brought in God’s blessings right away, when she trusted God with her little resources freely, God provided everything she needed during the entire drought (Luke 1:42). God’s power was unleashed when she obeyed, and the covenant that promised abundance to a nation if they walked with God now opened itself up to an individual who obeyed.

God’s blessings are always so close within our reach. It was God who ‘commanded’ this widow to take Elijah in, so the hand of the Almighty is behind her faith, the hand that makes hearts bend to His will. The widow and her household were saved from starving to death because she was able to discern the opportunity to receive a blessing from God even in a desperate situation where anyone could get frustrated.

The path of obedience is the path of faith that looks to God and not to situations both before and after the will of God is revealed. So, how willing we are to trust and obey God based on His commands and words. (Isaiah 1:19)

Confession
In the name of Jesus, I profess, I shall live my life as a testimony of the abundance of God’s provisions. I will live my life in surplus because God will filled me to overflow. Amen.

Prayer
Oh Lord, give me the grace to keep the words of your covenant, and do them, that I may prosper in all that I do. Amen
