Working for the Lord

Daniel 1:9 NKJV

Know who you are working for, and who is working for you. It is important for us as believers to know who we work for. The believer works for God because He is the One who works out the circumstances and consequences for obeying Him with His favor. We are called to serve God in all things (Colossians 3:17; 23). Because Daniel purposed in his heart to remain true to God, God was freed to act on Daniel’s behalf. Daniel knew who he worked for so to speak; he worked for God and took orders from this Boss first and foremost.

Daniel knew that while he was in a foreign land under foreign worldly masters, that nothing could change the God, who he really worked for or lived for. Daniel knew that God was at work behind the scenes here (Daniel 2:20-23). That is a message for all those going through hard and confusing times, for those confronted by the world and for those who the world has taken aim to cause them to compromise. Daniel did not compromise because he relied on God and God was faithful to honor and work through his faithful servant Daniel.

If we will be willing to stand our ground for the Lord, He will certainly honor our stand and bless us. (Matthew 6:33). Be among the Christians who want to keep the torch of faith lighted to pass on to their children and grandchildren. There will be times when we must choose between pleasing God or pleasing men. In such times we must choose to serve God and not men. God processes everything that every believer goes through, He never deserts us because God is faithful.

Confession
