Trust God To Do It Again

A Daily Devotional with David Olatona – TRUST GOD TO DO IT AGAIN

Main Text
Psalms 126:1-6

Watchword
Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south.
Psalms 126: 4a KJV

It is a Psalm of prayer for rescue from any dire affliction and crushing tyranny which is transformation from captivity to remarkable deliverance. The word “turn” is the keynote of this text. It is a prayer that offers you hope when you are in the midst of trouble and tears. It tells us that times of trouble and sorrow do not last, if only we will trust God. God will turn your sorrow to joy and your tears to laughter (Psalms 30:5). Remembering the former joy of a past rescue, Zion cry to Jehovah for a repetition of it.

When we pray for the turning of our captivity, it is wise to recall former instances thereof: nothing strengthens faith more effectually than the memory of a previous experience. Marvel at how God has helped you in the past and then entreat God to do it again. God parted the waters of the Red Sea, for the children of Israel, once and then he parted the waters of the Jordan River for them again.

Always remember when you face discouragement from within and opposition from without, that you need to trust God who had worked a great deliverance for you in the past to do it again. We need to reflect on God’s work in the past, our relationship with God in the present and looking forward to the results of God’s work in the future. May the Lord hasten to fulfil your desires as He has always done in His own time.

Confession
Oh Lord, today I resist fear and anxiety, and place my full trust and confidence in Your faithfulness to deliver me out of all my distress again.

Prayer for Trust
Oh Lord bless and bring me out of every difficult situation as you have done before. Amen
