A Daily Devotional with David Olatona
Main Text
Psalms 19:1-6
Watchword
Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge.
Psalms 19:2 (NKJV)
In this text, the abundance of God’s revelation is emphasized, the day pours out information about God and the night spreads the knowledge of God before us. In other words. truth about God is pouring in to us from all dimensions, if we only have our eyes open to see it. The order of which always continue, the sun for a light by day, and the moon and stars for a light by night. And so night and day constantly and successively proclaim the glory and wisdom of God (Psalms 74:16-17).
“Utters speech” God has designed that nature should teach man of His being, His power and wisdom. There is something of the voice of God and power of God in nature that gets through to us on the occasions hearing the wind howl, of watching a storm rage, the thunder and lightning crashing around us we feel the silence and loneliness and surging power of the sweeping tides. Take a look at the stars arranged in such a beautiful order, yet despite their immense number there is no confusion. (Psalms 29:3-4).
Reveals knowledge: “Knowledge is well matched with night. If God had not placed the stars in the sky at night, the blackness that the night would have communicated to all humanity both ancient and modern, is that nothing is out there. One of the greatest things God did for mankind was to establish an evening and a morning making a day. The evening was made for rest and the morning to work. I would like us to know that in Paradise there is one eternal day, there is no change from day to night. (Revelation 21:23)
