The Reassurance of the Promise

Main Text
Psalms 105:1-15

Watchword
And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.” (Genesis 17:2) NKJV

In this text we see that God came to renew, establish, and enlarge that covenant which He formerly made with Abraham. So we can trust God to always be there, to keep His word and promises.( Matthew 24:35). God had disclosed Himself to Abraham in a more intimate fashion by manifesting Himself more fully in terms of His character and attributes.

God also reminded Abraham He had not forgotten the covenant though it had been some years since the promise was first made, and though it maybe seemed to Abraham that God has forgotten. (Psalms 89:34)

God wants Abraham to know without a shadow of a doubt that His promises are still good. God now restates that He will make His covenant between Himself and Abraham to multiply him exceedingly by greatly increasing Abraham in number. Now God offers two rewards, a covenant and numerous descendants. (Numbers 23:19)
