Stewards of God’s Presence

June 23, 2020 – Daily Devotional with David Olatona – STEWARDS OF GOD’S PRESENCE

Main Text:
Act 5:12-16

Watchword:
One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple.’
Psalm 27:4

Jesus chose to live in the human form with two qualifications: free from sin and empowered by the Holy Spirit. One of the greatest privileges we now have as a believer is been a steward of God’s Presence.

It means that we are now carriers of His Presence. In the Old Testament, the Ark of the Covenant was symbolic of the manifest presence of God on the earth.(Exodus 25:22). The ark was ordained to be carried by the Levites according to the Law, (1 Chronicles 15:2). The priests in Israel are qualified men from within Levites who had responsibility over aspects of tabernacle or temple worship.

All priests were to be Levites according to the Law, but not all Levites were priests. We are now the priests of the Lord who are the carriers of His Presence.(1 Peter 2:9). This unique high calling is something that we must learn how to effectively host and guard. God has entrusted unto us this unspeakable gift.

Confession
Repeat this Declaration
Father, give me the grace to be faithful with your presence in me and on me.

Prayer
Fervently pray this point
Oh Lord, cause my love for you to be relentless and passionate so that it will be more of you and less of me. (Amen).
