Reward for Endurance

A Daily Devotional with David Olatona – REWARD FOR ENDURANCE

Main Text:
Hebrews 10:32-39

Watchword
For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise. Hebrews 10:36 (NKJV).

Hope combined with faith increases the endurance level needed to produce the desired change or outcome. When challenges arise and things look like they may start or are falling apart trusting God with an enduring attitude should be what we hold on to. (Isaiah 40:31) There is no detail of your life that is not covered when you trust God. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

David had to fight from the pasture all the way to the Palace. The truth is that David was being trained in the school of God to lead the nation of God’s people. David stood with God and passed his test, he didn’t complain even at very low point in his life. (1 Samuel 30:6c; Psalms 23:1-6). As a result, shortly after this David is recognized as the king of Israel, the Lord brought forth the promise.

The promise guaranteed for those who learn how to endure is that you won’t have to wait too long. Faith is required on the journey towards your future to forgive those who hurt you, forsake trying to impress others, forge new and healthy relationships and focus on what is important. Every attack on you is after your hope. The enemy wants your hope because your hope is tied to your faith. To do God’s will in the present, persevere in obedience, especially when you are tempted to compromise under pressure.

*Confession*
I am a soldier of the Lord, I will not tire out, I will not fall by the wayside. Every faith ingredient are in me to endure and I will persevere till the end.

*Prayer*
The plans of God shall be revealed to me, I draw my hope and expectation from HIS promises. A crown is waiting for me for my endurance. I will not miss out.
