OUR GOD IS GLORIOUS

Main Text
Psalms 19:1-6

Watchword
The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork.
Psalms 19:1 (NKJV)

This text did not opens with a praise, or even a call to praise God, but with a description of the proclamation of praise by the products of God’s creative power. In particular, “the heavens and the skies”, which we usually recognize as non living things is given here life and voice to “declare,” the praise of the creator.” This clearly teaches that God is revealed by His creation, although it is equally clear that men and women suppresses that knowledge (Romans 1:19-20).

The creation in form of nature with their size, awe, and majesty, are shouting to all who would see, that “The God who created all this is glorious, and this is evidence of His glory. God is glorious in His size, having created something so big. He is so glorious in His engineering, having created something that works together so well. He is glorious in His artistry, having created something so beautiful. He is glorious in His goodness and kindness, having created something for all humanity to see (Exodus 15:11).

Deuteronomy 4:19 points out that God made what we see in the sky at night so those stars and planets are not deities, or spirits—they are the creations of God. The
more we learn more about how the whole world is structured, and how it works, the more fully we grasp the power of God. Nature itself declares that there is a God, and tells us much about Him— this is something all people have some ability to understand. The natural world reveals that God is wise, powerful, eternal and glorious (Isaiah 40:5).

Confession
Heavenly father, I worship and praise you for this glorious creation of the heavens and earth – I am lost in the wonder of your love and praise.

Prayer
Creator of the Universe, give me the grace to always come to you with awe and wonder, worship and rededication. Amen.
