OUR DIVINE PROTECTION IN LIFE

Main Text
Psalms 34:1-10

Watchword
The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.
Psalms 34:7 (NKJV)

This is an unfailing promise, God never leaves you to fend for yourself, He assures you of His protection. The angel of the Lord forms a protective perimeter around those who fear God. The fear refer to here is demonstrating reverence, esteem, love, regard and respect for God. If we want God to fight for us, we must fear him. Only then can we be confident that he will deliver us. The phrase, “and deliver them” is the same as to “sets them free.” (Jude 1:24-25)

Now the psalmist invited us here to enter into a personal relationship of trust with God and to experience him firsthand. David also invites us to eat at the Lord’s table, for only God truly satisfies. The state of being blessed that is experienced by those who take refuge in God is one of sustained satisfaction and contentment. The Lord’s protection may not take a visible form, but it is always there. Fearing God is inextricably bound up with experiencing His salvation. (Psalms 23:1-6)

But today, as believers there is much more than angels guarding us! The Bible describes Jesus as far superior to the angels (Hebrews 1:1-4). We can also rejoice with exceeding great joy that the Spirit of Christ has taken up permanent residence within our heart and is living in us and working through us (John 14:17-18). Jesus is always with us (Matthew 28:20), and no amount of trouble we encounter can drive him from us (Romans 8:38–39). Furthermore, angels are God’s servants who minister to us in various ways (Hebrews 1:14).

Confession
Thank You Jesus for this knowledge of divine protection, that there is nowhere that I can go that is beyond the range of Your power, protection and comfort.

Prayer
Oh Lord, give me the grace to trust you absolutely to overcome every form of insecurity in my life and family. Amen.
