A Daily Devotional with David Olatona – LOOK UP, THE RAIN IS COMING
Main Text
1 Kings 18:41-46Watchword
Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.”
1 Kings 18:41 (NKJV)Elijah knew the rain was coming because he could hear the sound of the abundant rain even when there was no sign of it by the hearing of faith. The ear of faith hears what the eyes of flesh cannot of see! Blessed is the man who doesn’t have to see to believe – (John 20:29). Elijah believed and operates in faith in the promises of God and his confidence in God to bring the rain was based on the precious word of God, the perfect will of God, and the previous workings of God. All these indicated that God can be trusted. When God’s will had been revealed about a matter, it is settled already and it will be done! Because, God’s promises are not given to restrict our prayer life, but to energize it! When God reveals His will in a matter, we have direction, purpose and power in prayer. We can pray specifically about the situation with the confidence that God will do as He has purposed and willed. We can pray with absolute confidence concerning the needs that arise in our lives. The battle had been won, but the work was not finished! Child of God, there is no room for quitting in the family of God. There is still work to be done. Promises must be claimed, prayers must be prayed, God still wants His people to run with patience the race of life for His glory. There’s about to be an abundance of favor in your life because God has all you need. The drought is coming to an end. You’re going to see healing, restoration, new opportunities and new growth in Jesus name. (Ephesians 3:16).Confession
I hear the sound of abundance of God’s blessing, my sight will not cancel my hearing.Prayer
Oh Lord, let every prophecy and divine promises for my life begin to find fulfilment now in the Name of Jesus Amen.Additional Reading
