I Sam. 17: 29 – “And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?”
IS THERE A CAUSE FOR YOUR LIFE? DO YOU HAVE A REASON FOR LIVING? IS THERE A THING YOU ARE WILLING TO DIE FOR? HAVE YOU BEEN ABLE TO DISCOVER THAT “SO AND SO” IS WHAT YOU CAN DIE FOR?
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE SOMETHING TO DIE FOR, THEN YOU DO NOT HAVE SOMETHING TO LIVE FOR; BECAUSE WHAT IS WORTH DYING FOR IS WORTH LIVING FOR!
Everyone must find a reason why they should still care? You must know your purpose; because where purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable. It is not enough to join something that is exciting, but isn’t going anywhere – belong to something that gives you a dream; something that makes it clear where you want to go and what you want to do in life; something that does not just make you a follower but someone that can use what you possesses to produce what will be useful for your life! The question you should ask yourself wherever you ask yourself is – WHY ARE WE HERE?
Therefore, as a church and individuals in the body of Christ, what is our cause? This is what we will be looking at in the few weeks to come…
As a church, we are here to:
Worship God, and not man. Exo. 3: 12; Matt. 22: 37 – loving and worshipping God with all your heart, soul and mind should be every Christian’s priority. Matt. 4: 10 – “THOU SHALT WORSHIP THE LORD THY GOD, AND HIM ONLY SHALT THOU SERVE.” You are created to worship God! Psa. 22: 3 – God inhabits the praises of His people! Praise and worship brings down God’s presence; and without God’s presence, any service/meeting is empty.
Your heart is the seat of your emotion; this is why you must worship God with your heart and in the right emotions. You cannot go into the presence of your Maker with an angry countenance.
Your soul is your centre of emotion; you must drop everything that will stand as a limitation between your worship and God. You must not look pitiable in God’s presence. Faith is action; it is not how you look that moves God, it is how you behave! You must behave downtrodden in God’s presence, you must not act like the weight of the world is on your shoulders – even if it were, drop it at His feet and worship Him like you don’t have a care in the world! Put your soul into it!
Your mind is the eye of your soul; whatever you can imagine with your mind will happen in your life – once you think it, you can act it. Phil. 4: 8 – think only things that are holy and pure, then your worship can be holy and pure!
Paying your tithe is a way of worshipping Him for all He has given you; worshipping with your physical strength is a way of giving back to Him the might He bestowed on you. John 4: 23, 24 – God is looking for worshippers, those that will worship in spirit and in truth.
The attitudes to put in mind when you go to worship God are:
- “I am going to celebrate”. So you must come with the mindset of celebration to the presence of God; you must be glad to go to the house of your Father – dress like you’re going to an event, an event with your God!
- “I am going to be inspired.” Isa. 40: 31 – you do not even need wait for the sermon to inspire you; gathering with other people of God and partaking in the activities is enough to inspire anyone who comes into God’s presence with an open mind!
- “I am here to receive the word of God.”
Bear it in the mind, therefore, for the rest of your days that you are here to worship, you are called to worship, you are made to worship and you should be free to worship! Shalom!
