God’s Presence Is With You

Psalms 16:1-11

*Watchword*
Then He finished talking with him, and God went up from Abraham.
Genesis 17:22 NKJV

Abraham’s relatively lengthy encounter with God ends here. For the first time, we are told about God’s departure from one of these meetings.

This detail is included to emphasize that God’s appearance to Abraham really happened, it was not something Abraham imagined. God came, spoke and left. Abraham is left alone by God to make a choice to either believe and act on what God had said or not. The words here suggest the idea of Abraham being left to make a choice: will he believe, trust, and obey? (Deuteronomy 30:19).

There are times in the Christian life, that God seems to be everywhere which are wonderful times and there are other times when God seems to be nowhere. That is life and is in part of our testing, now it is a time to test if we are going to believe His promises of His constant presence with us and His power is already given to us if we are saved. There is nothing we can do to add more of God into our lives, we either have Him or we don’t.(1John 5:11-12). So enjoy each moment you have with God.

*Confession*
Everlasting father, I choose to abide in your presence always. I choose to stay with you both when you speak and in the time when it looks as if you are quiet. Amen

*Prayer*
Oh Lord, grant me grace to carry the awareness that you live inside of me and that I’m a carrier of your presence everywhere I go. Amen
