Main Text: Luke 10:25-37
Watchword: Then they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David; and they gave him bread and he ate, and they let him drink water. And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs and two clusters of raisins. So when he had eaten, his strength came back to him; for he had eaten no bread nor drunk water for three days and three nights.
1 Samuel 30:11-12 NKJ
This text exhibits and presents to us, a pleasing example of tenderness and sympathy to others even in our season of crisis. With the exception of a situation, the case of this Egyptian youth is one which is daily presented to us, and makes constant appeals to our sympathy and beneficence. They didn’t just give this Egyptian food and water, they gave him care and show him kindness. (Job 36:5)
When you decide to do things God’s way, then you need to also go with God all the way. You don’t just ask God for help at the start and then proceed to do things your own way. Sometimes, interruptions in our lives may just be an opportunity from God to love and to serve others to accomplish His purposes. (Psalms 147:5)
Focus on God as you go about your daily activities, and you should never be so busy that you can’t stop to love your neighbor. Loving your neighbor is part of the way we love God. (Mark 12:30-33).
