But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
Genesis 39:21 NKJV

Our restriction, most times are God’s means of bringing glory to His Name, this is obvious through a study of Joseph’s trials and promotion as God worked in his life. Lessons from the life of Joseph, teaches us that by submitting to God’s will, we also submit to His perfect timing. Rather than growing in bitterness, we should be growing in patience, as we begin to see the favor God has shown us despite our difficult situations (Psalm 105:17–19).

This text is telling us that God provides us with favor even in difficult moments to help us through it. Many at times we are in distressing situations and asking God how long? When will I have some relief? When will things begin to turn for good in my life? When will I have victory over this particular sin? (Psalms 13:1-3). All these and much more questions. God always sustains us in hard time, only to show that He has been in charge all along. In other words, God often answers prayers inside what appear to be nonanswers.

As believers it is critical for us to know that God is able to make us prosper even in the most trying situations. In every pleasant or difficult times of life we are to cling to Christ and walk faithfully before him. Love God above everything else, and love your neighbor as yourself. The presence of the Lord is not determined by where we are, but by who we are! If you have known the Lord, He is with you. God can accomplish His purpose in us and through us, by His presence, our faithful commitment to Him, and by His exemplary character in our lives.
(Isaiah 43:2).
