Eternal Punishment

The destruction Paul warned us about is a time of unavoidable distress, ruin and disaster. The result of unbelief is eternal punishment.

Main Text: Revelation 14:9-11

Watchword: These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power. 2 Thessalonians 1:9 NKJV

The life that God gave to you as a believer is not just for you to be alive, it is a relationship that continues even after death. You will see the Lord face to face and share in His glory (1 Corinthians 13:12). Just as the blessings of heaven are eternal, the penalty of hell is also eternal. (Matthew 25:41).

Everlasting destruction is not annihilation but a conscious, eternal separation from the presence of God, His blessings and the manifestation of His power. (Revelation 9:6). This destruction will not be a loss of being but rather a loss of well-being.

The punishment of those who reject God in hell will consist not only of suffering in the fire, but also banishment from His loving presence and His glory. They will forever lose the opportunity to connect to what gives meaning to life. Hell is not going to be a wild, eternal party, as the world often portrays it but rather an eternal punishment and destruction. (Revelation 14:11).

Confession: Heavenly Father, cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. (Psalms 51:11)

Prayer: Oh Lord, help me to continue to enjoy your grace and mercy.
