The Attitude of Gratitude

Watchword
In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 NKJV

In many countries of the world, especially here in the U.S and Canada, a special day is set aside each year for thanksgiving. But
God wants us as believers to be intentional about our thankfulness every day. He wants us to develop this spiritual habit, one that is reflected in the life of a radical believer. The more deeply you understand God’s love, the more grateful you are going to be. Radical gratitude is being thankful in every circumstances of life, because it is God’s will and God is in control of our lives. (Ephesians 5:20). Remember, thanksgiving is not just a holiday, it is a lifestyle of gratitude.

No matter what happens, God is not going to stop loving you. You can find a hundred things to be thankful for in any situation, even when the circumstance stinks. As believers who have been saved by grace through faith in Christ, we are encouraged to develop an attitude of grateful praise and ceaseless thanksgiving, to our Father in heaven. Let your attitude of gratitude be the evidence of your faith in Him! Gratitude will always builds deeper relationships between you and God; and between you and others. If you want to get closer to someone, start expressing gratitude to that person. (Deuteronomy 31:8)

The attitude of gratitude helps bonding to be stronger in any relationship. If you are feeling distant from your spouse, you need to start doing what you did when you were dating. Express gratitude, write little notes of encouragement and kindness, make calls or text during the day, just to tell your spouse that you are thankful. The reason you have lost that loving feeling is just because you stopped doing the things that created that lovely feeling early on, and you take each other for granted. As you develop an attitude of gratitude, you will see changes in your life and the attitudes of other people towards you.
(1Thessalonians 5:11)
